Summary: Unleashing the Value of Supply Chain Management
Comment: This article may be helpful to accounting and finance business people because it introduces the concept of supply chain management as way to create customer value rather than merely to contain costs. This perspective is not the prevalent way that supply chain management is viewed by most business organizations. However, the increasing commoditization of the goods element of many firms' products means that the services surrounding those goods often represent the most viable means of differentiating a firm's products.
